"Smart" is a term that we often hear nowadays. In our daily lives, not only are our phones becoming increasingly smart, but also household appliances, machinery, and other devices are moving towards smart technology, which in turn is pushing the instrument industry towards smart technology. For instrument manufacturers who want to stay ahead of the industry, there is no avoiding the road to intelligence.
In recent years, the development of intelligent measuring and control instruments has been particularly rapid. There are a wide variety of intelligent measuring and control instruments available in the domestic market, such as smart throttling flowmeters that can automatically perform differential pressure compensation, intelligent multi-segment temperature control instruments that can perform program-controlled temperature regulation, intelligent regulators that can implement digital PID and various complex control laws, and intelligent chromatographs that can analyze and process various spectra. Experts have also pointed out three major development trends for intelligent instruments and meters in the future.
Miniature intelligent instruments refer to the application of microelectronics technology, micro-mechanical technology, information technology, and other comprehensive technologies in the production of instruments, making the instruments small in size and fully functional. It can perform functions such as signal acquisition, linearization processing, digital signal processing, output control signals, amplification, interface with other instruments, and interaction with humans. With the continuous development of microelectronics and mechanical technology, the technology of miniature intelligent instruments is becoming more and more mature, and the price is constantly decreasing, so its application field will continue to expand. It not only has the functions of traditional instruments but also plays a unique role in automation technology, aerospace, military, biotechnology, medical fields, etc. For example, to simultaneously measure several different parameters of a patient and control certain parameters, usually, several tubes need to be inserted into the patient's body, which increases the risk of infection. Miniature intelligent instruments can measure multiple parameters simultaneously, and because of their small size, they can be implanted in the human body, thus solving these problems.
Multi-functionalityMulti-functionality is a characteristic of intelligent instruments, and therefore, it is also a major trend in the development of the intelligent instrument industry in the future.
Artificial IntelligenceArtificial intelligence is a new field of computer application, and further development of intelligent instruments will contain some degree of artificial intelligence, which replaces some human brainpower. The application of artificial intelligence in modern instruments and meters not only helps to solve a class of problems that are difficult to solve using traditional methods but also enables us to solve problems that are impossible to solve using traditional methods.
