The physics and chemistry room is mainly used to operate physical and chemical projects, and is equipped with experimental tables, fume hoods, commonly used glassware, water baths, pH meters, multi-tube mixers, etc.

The inorganic pretreatment room is the main place for sample pretreatment and digestion. Many acidic liquids are used, producing a large amount of acid mist. Common pretreatment equipment includes acid tanks, (dry and wet) grinders, temperature-controlled shakers, ultrasonic cleaners, benchtop centrifuges, electric heating plates, microwave digestion instruments, etc.

The organic pretreatment room is the place for eliminating interfering components and concentrating the test components of the sample before measurement to meet the requirements of the analysis method. Common equipment includes rotary evaporators, fast solvent extractors, high-speed freezing centrifuges, cryogenic centrifuges, homogenizers, ultrasonic cleaning machines, water bath constant temperature oscillators, parallel evaporators, nitrogen blowers, etc.

The instrument room contains both large and small analytical instruments. Common large analytical instruments include gas chromatography (GC), gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS), atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS), atomic fluorescence, inductively coupled plasma emission spectrometry (ICP), ICP-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), ion chromatography, etc.

The balance room is commonly used for sample and standard weighing. The higher the accuracy of the balance, the higher the environmental requirements, affected by factors such as temperature, humidity, airflow, and vibration. Analytical balances (one ten-thousandth, 0.1mg) and microbalances (one hundred-thousandth, 0.01mg) require higher temperature and humidity control, and a buffer room should be provided in the balance room.
